Optimized control charts using indifference regions

چکیده

In statistical process monitoring, the CUSUM and EWMA control charts have received considerable attention because of their remarkable ability to detect small sustained shifts. practice, variation shifts are anticipated beforehand in many processes, so focus should be on detecting a moderate large shift. The aforementioned identify minor changes population parameters as out-of-control scenarios; thus, “small” potentially practically insignificant producing signals. To counteract this, both amended accommodate an indifference region by optimizing detection shift at outer boundaries region. results show that adapted monitoring schemes yield comparable results. On nearly all occasions, chart outperforms chart, yet seems more robust is easier interpret. Furthermore, we provide two practical examples illustrate use-case optimized mitigate (unimportant) variations, such seasonality modest temporary Overall, this work provides general approach tailored practice quality control, e.g., prescribed ISO standards. It also answers recent call literature reconsider design charts.

Controlling Quality in Software Inspections using Control Charts Controlling Quality in Software Inspections using Control Charts

Software inspections are an efficient way of controlling and reducing the number of faults throughout the software life cycle [Ebenau94a]. A process, more or less stable and formal, is used when inspecting a document and by using statistical quality control [Mills88] the software inspection process can be monitored. Further, an early warning system can be implemented into organisations which ca...

Control charts using minima instead of averages

Traditional control charts are commonly based on the averages of the inspected groups of observations. It turns out to be quite worthwhile to consider alternative approaches. In particular, a very good proposal is to use instead the group minimum for comparison to some suitable upper limit (and likewise the group maximum for comparison to a lower limit). The power of detection during Out-of-Con...

Fault Detection using DPCA-based Control Charts

In this paper, Hotelling’s 2 T chart and the DPCA(Dynamic PCA)-based 2 A T and Q charts are applied to real oil data histories obtained from condition monitoring of heavy hauler truck transmissions. The objective is to evaluate the impending failure detection capability and the false alarm rate of the control charts in a CBM (conditionbased maintenance) application. When applied to failure hist...

Automatic Load Test Verification Using Control Charts

Load testing is an important phase in the software development process. It is very time consuming but there is usually little time for it. As a solution to the tight testing schedule, software companies automate their testing procedures. However, existing automation only reduces the time required to run load tests. The analysis of the test results is still performed manually. A typical load tes...

Control of Control Charts

O, ye who believe! If ye will aid, (the cause of) God, He will aid you, and plant your feet firmly. Verily, with every difficulty there is relief. Therefore, when thou art free (from thine immediate task), still labour hard. And to thy Lord turn (all) thy attention.
